The Power of Effort

There comes a time in everyone's life when the usual course of action just isn't enough. The day-to-day, play-by-play is always easy to cling to because it doesn't take much to do so. In order to deviate from the routine of societal placation, and truly tap into the essence of self, one must be willing to give, do, and be more. With that being said, The Power of Effort  is the key to making it all happen.

Effort is the driving force behind all great and meaningful accomplishments. Anything worth having takes effort to maintain, whether it be relationships, materials, or even a particular state of mind. In the book The Golden Key to Happiness, author Masami Saionji briefly touches on the topic of effort stating:

"Effort is the only effective way to draw forth the
unlimited potential given equally to every hum-
an being. Through making efforts, human bein-
gs can claim endless potential that is already
given them. If you spend the whole day without
making effort, your endless potential will sleep
forever... Through your awakening, the enviro-
nment in which you have lived will quickly be
transformed, and a wonderful world will start
       being built around you."

Effort is integral in creating success, which varies between each unique individual. Don't be afraid to realize the unlimited potential that is patiently waiting within, use some will power    to push forth and unlock The Power of Effort.

The Power of Release

Have you ever been involved in a situation that ended with no closure?Maybe encountered a drama that played mellow at first, and then quickly spiraled beyond you're control, into something horrific? There are always those events that take place in life where you end up like "Wtf just happened?", but there was nothing that you could do to tune out the disastrous melody, a rapture of clashing symbols, loud horns, and an awful slowed-synth.

In some circumstances, the best and  most effective way to save your mind the rewinding of insidious events, is by applying the Power of Release.  A good definition for release (which I found on Google), in the verb tense, is to allow (something) to move, act, or flow freely. In other words, to release means to let go and in many cases, that is the only option that one is left with, especially when situations surface that are beyond sole control b/c it involves others as well. We all have troubling, doubtful, harmful, crude, rude, and down right nasty experiences that would do us no good to live and re-live, again and again. Doing so keeps our spirits low and consequently creates a barrier, or blockage, that mentally binds us to experiences, situations, and circumstances that will never change no matter how many replays we decide to ride out in our minds. Are there any areas in your life that would be improved by utilizing the Power of Release? Please note that it may be necessary to release PEOPLE as well as events b/c you never have the power to control the acts of others.

The Power of Agency

Since I've been on a personal hiatus, taking the time to reconfigure my life, pinpointing the areas of blockage that appeared to be keeping me stagnant (or at least revolving around the same types of situations, although a few players may have changed) I came across some interesting concepts, one in particular happened to deal with the idea of being an agent of the universe.  Now in order to grapple with, and comprehend  that concept, one must first define the term agent. According to Webster's New International Dictionary(Unabridged), an  agent is said to be "1a: something that produces or is capable of producing a certain effect: an active or efficient cause," or "2a: one that acts or exerts power (as by driving , inciting, or setting in motion): a driving force."

In the process of relating the concept of agency into my own life, I was able to pose the question " Am I doing my best to be  an agent of the universe?" And more narrowly, "am I doing my best to be an agent behind my goals, in reference to my daily life? Once I assessed my life in all honesty, I found that the answer to my question was a cold, solid, and plain "No." I was not doing my best to be an agent of the universe or, more importantly, of my own life. I realized that somewhere along the life line, I had learned, been shown, and developed a tendency  to be a hard worker for others (as an employee), but lazy for myself, in terms of giving adequate energy to my passions, goals, and dreams. At some point I had decided that the things that mattered most to me were not as equally as important as keeping up with the "worldly rat race," perpetuating the norms of society instead of doing my utmost to add to the life force of the universe by being as beautiful and creative as I know I can be. Author Byllye Avery describes Agency perfectly in her book An Altar of Words, stating

"Agency is the power within us to change ourselves
and the world around us. . . Agency is one of our
most precious gifts. . . and one of our most awesome
              responsibilities."

Many people tend to make fear the root cause of non-accomplishment or unproductive behavior, but I found that laziness is just as potent and prevalent. Are you applying The Power of Agency in your life, or are you simply too lazy to consider it?
